I'm 41, I have a young family here, and I'm running for one of five council seats. Perth is growing. I want a council that asks who pays, who benefits, and what it means for daily life before it approves the next thing.

Signs, printing and postage are the whole budget.

This is a small campaign in a small town. Money goes to lawn signs, door hangers and printing. Nothing else. No corporate money is allowed in a municipal race in Ontario, and I think that's a good rule.

300 Neighbours, coming soon

Here's the plan I'm building toward. 300 people in Perth, each putting in a small amount ($10 Max). Not a handful of large cheques. Three hundred neighbours with their name on this.

One square per person. The count goes live when sign-ups open.

You don't have to wait for that to contribute. Any amount helps, and $10 from a neighbour is worth more to this campaign than the cheque it's written on.

In person: Email me and we'll sort it out. Cash contributions over $25 aren't permitted under provincial rules.

What the rules require me to tell you

The most one person can give to my campaign is $1,200.
One person can give a total of $5,000 across all candidates running for Perth council.
Only individuals who live in Ontario can contribute. Corporations, unions and groups cannot.
Anything over $25 has to be traceable, so no cash above that amount.
Contributions over $100 are recorded and appear in the campaign financial statement, which is a public document.
This is not a charitable donation. There is no tax receipt. You'll get a receipt for your own records.

These rules come from Ontario's Municipal Elections Act. If anything here is unclear, email me and I'll walk you through it.
